STRENGTHS IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS

Cancer Care:

Among the 6 main hospitals constituting the Cancer Institute AP-HP. Nord, four have dedicated teams for interventional radiology (IR), covering the whole territory for cancer patients. Mainly, these four teams have sub-specialty: Beaujon has skills in digestive interventional radiology (liver, biliary duct), Bichat has skills in lung and vascular procedures, Saint-Louis has a huge activity in breast cancer, while Lariboisiere has expertise in all bone procedures. All teams are in charge of intravascular devices for systemic treatments. All kind of techniques are developed in our sites, ranging from vascular embolization, vascular prosthesis and stenting, tumor ablation, CT and US-guided biopsies, bone cementoplasty, cryo-ablation, local intra-tumor therapeutic injection (viral vectors, immunotherapy, CAR-T, cytotoxics…etc.). Our teams thus realize more than 7,000 interventional procedures for various solid cancers of hematological malignancies, with H24, 7days/7 availability of expert onsite IR. The main tendency of our specialty is to ensure such highly technical procedures as outpatient procedures, even if short general anesthesia is needed with a close collaboration with the Anesthesia department.
